Downstream Purchasing Sentiment Remains Weak; Market Demand Sluggish [SMM North China Spot Copper]

SMM News, February 11:

Today, spot copper in North China was quoted at a discount of 320-220 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 270 yuan/mt, up 10 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Transaction prices were 76,500-76,900 yuan/mt, with an average price of 76,700 yuan/mt, up 45 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Copper prices fluctuated at highs, while market demand remained weak. Downstream buyers still held inventory after the holiday and showed almost no purchasing interest today. Some suppliers, under pressure, negotiated sales to traders.
